The North-East Branch cordially invites you to attend the 2019 Annual General Meeting of our Branch on Thursday 19th September at 2.30pm in Portstewart Golf Club.  We hope to have as our guest Mrs. Sandra Savage, Chair of the Central Executive Committee.  The Speaker will be Mr. Jim Hunter, a local historian, whose topic will be “The Waves of Tory”. We would encourage you to come along and, after the brief business part of the afternoon, meet up with former colleagues and enjoy Afternoon Tea consisting of scones and shortbread.  You will be asked to pay the small sum of £4 towards the cost. North-Down Branch cordially invites you to join us in Carnalea Golf Club Station Road, Bangor BT19-1EZ for a short A.G.M and Lunch on Wednesday 25th September 2019 at 12.30 for 1pm. This year our guest speaker will be Eddie Lynch, Commissioner for Older People in N.I. Eddie is the independent champion for older people who safeguards and promotes their interests. He is the voice of the elderly in Northern Ireland. This promises to be a very enjoyable and successful get-together and we look forward to meeting with you all again. The 77th Annual Conference of the Retired Teachers' Association Northern Ireland will take place at 11.00am on Wednesday, 16th October 2019 in the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown, beginning with complimentary tea/coffee & scones from 9.30am. Following a very brief AGM, our guest speaker, Mr. Seamus Lynch, Public Affairs Manager, Age Sector Platform, will address us on the journey and future direction of the Northern Ireland Pensioners’ Parliament, followed by a Question & Answer Session.
The President of UTU, Chair of the Northern Committee INTO, Retired Members’ Rep. NEU and NAS among others, will also be present. The Ulster Tatler magazine will be taking photographs for publication in November. A generous lunch, (subsidised) at £12.50 only, will be served at 1.00pm. The Annual Report containing details of the conference, lunch and speakers will be posted out to all members around the second week of September. We hope to continue to encourage more recently-retired teachers, our newer members particularly, to attend this popular event in our calendar.

The Fermanagh Branch would like you to join them in a Carvery Lunch in our private room at the Riverside Suite of the Killyhevlin Hotel, Dublin Road, Enniskillen BT74-6RW on Wednesday 20th November 2019 at 12.00pm for 12.30pm. The Executive Committee is heavily subsidising this lunch (costing £16.95) so that all you pay is £10 per person. The menu for this Carvery Lunch, from which you may choose on the day itself, comprises Mains of either Roast Beef, Chicken or Salmon (all accompanied by seasonal vegetables and potatoes etc.) and Dessert plus tea/coffee. All members of the Retired Teachers’ Association but in particular the members of the Belfast Branch are invited to join us for a Buffet-Lunch in our own private room in the Westbury Suite of the Balmoral Hotel, Black’s Road, Belfast BT10-0NF on Wednesday 27th November 2019 at 12.30pm for 1.00pm.
We are delighted to inform you that the Baroness May Blood M.B.E. will be our distinguished guest of honour and she will address us after lunch.
The Executive Committee is very generously subsidising this event so that all you pay is £13 per person and, as always your friends are also very welcome.
The menu for this Buffet-Lunch, from which you may choose on the day itself, comprises Beef Bourguignon or Chicken à la King both served with baby-boiled potatoes, rice, bread rolls, salads and coleslaw, followed by dessert with tea/coffee and a free light-hearted quiz with prizes!
