Belfast Branch Annual General Meeting and Lunch at the Ivanhoe Hotel and Inn, 556 Saintfield Road, Carryduff, Belfast BT8-8EU, Thursday, 7th March 2019 at 10:30am for 11:00am. Complimentary tea/coffee & biscuits will be available from 10.30am followed by a short AGM comprising Secretary’s/Treasurer’s Report and Election of Officers. Members wishing to raise any matter with the Secretary should do so before the meeting. Mr. Clive Scoular, Historian and Author, will be addressing us on some aspects of Irish History between the AGM and the lunch. Mid-Ulster AGM Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown with Guest Speaker; Sheila Henderson, Crime Prevention Officer. Accompanying her will be a representative from Ulster Bank’s Community Banking Team. They will advise us on personal safety in our homes and on line and will be happy to respond to questions. The North-Down Branch Committee invites you to A WONDERFUL TRIP ON THE INISHCRUISER, UPPER LOUGH ERNE PLUS EVENING MEAL AT AUGHNACLOY AND COACH TRIP ON WEDNESDAY 8th MAY 2019 FOR £25 (subsidised). Meet at the McKee Clock, Bangor at 10.15am sharp or at Bangor Road Church, Holywood at 10.30am. Then on to Augher for lunch at 12-noon at the Station House Restaurant and leaving there at 1.15pm. Note that lunch in Augher will be paid directly by yourself to the restaurant on the day of the trip itself but must be ordered beforehand. Continuing to the Share Centre, Lisnaskea for a scenic tour on the InishCruiser Upper Lough Erne with audio-commentary, on-board refreshments, central heating, toilets, open-viewing facilities and a licensed bar. After the cruise, we make our way to Aughnacloy, arriving at 5.30pm for our evening meal in Salley’s Restaurant which is included in the ticket cost. All members of the Retired Teachers’ Association but in particular the members of the Tyrone Branch are invited to our Annual Outing which will be to CASTLE ESPIE, COMBER FOLLOWED BY A TOUR OF THE WETLAND CENTRE AND A LOOK AT THE WETLAND FOWL, PROCEEDING TO MOUNT STEWART WHERE WE HAVE BOOKED A TOUR OF THE HOUSE AND FINISHING IN GREYABBEY WITH DINNER AT HARRISON’S RESTAURANT.
The coach leaves Lidl Car Park, Dromore Road, Omagh at 9.30am. We will have tea/coffee & scones in Castle Espie followed by a look at the Wetland Fowl. Then we will proceed to Mount Stewart where we have booked a tour of the house for our group. Lunch is available afterwards in the restaurant for you to purchase.
Our evening meal has been booked in Harrison’s Restaurant, Greyabbey for 5.00pm app. Friends are, as always, very welcome so please feel free to invite them!
The cost of this outing is £30 per person to include coach-trip, tea/coffee & scones at Castle Espie, entrance to Mount Stewart and evening meal at Harrison’s Greyabbey.

Following the very successful lunch last November, Mid-Antrim Branch now invite you to a lunch in the Rosspark Hotel, 20 Doagh Road, Kells, Ballymena BT42-3LZ on Thursday 16th May 2019 at 12.30pm for 1.00pm. The Executive Committee is heavily subsidising this event so that all you pay is £10 pp. The menu for this lunch (from which you may choose on the day itself) will be:

Beef Bourguignon or Chicken à la King with sweet peppers and onions,
both served carvery-style with rice, bread rolls, mixed leaves and salads.

A vegetarian option of Roast Mediterranean vegetable pasta is also available on the day.

There will be a choice of two fresh home-made desserts.

All members of the Retired Teachers’ Association but in particular the members of the North-East Branch are invited to our Annual Outing which will be to on Monday 20th May, when we plan to visit the Hill of the O’Neill and Ranfurly House, Dungannon. We assemble at 9.15am at the Riverside Retail Park, Coleraine, for departure at 9.30am.
On arrival at Ranfurly House, tea/coffee & scones will be served at 11.00am. The Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown will be the venue for a Carvery Lunch at 2.00pm app. We hope to be back in Coleraine by about 5.00pm. The total cost of the trip, including coach, coffee, entrance fee and lunch, will be £30 per person.
To maintain this price of £30, it is essential that we have at least 30 members and friends participating in our outing. Please note that friends are, as always, very welcome.
The menu for the Carvery Lunch (from which you may choose on the day) comprises:
A choice of at least two meat-roasts served with Moneymore vegetables and potatoes
with a vegetarian option available on request plus  selection of Homemade Sweets e.g. Sticky Toffee Pudding, Cheesecake of the Day, Fruit Pavlova, Fresh Fruit Salad, Fudge Nut Sundae, Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake & Ice-Cream. Tea or Regular Coffee will also be served.

The 77th Annual Conference of the Retired Teachers' Association Northern Ireland will take place at 11.00am on Wednesday, 16th October 2019 in the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown, beginning with complimentary tea/coffee & scones from 9.30am. Following a very brief AGM, our guest speaker, Mr. Seamus Lynch, Public Affairs Manager, Age Sector Platform, will address us on the journey and future direction of the Northern Ireland Pensioners’ Parliament, followed by a Question & Answer Session.
The President of UTU, Chair of the Northern Committee INTO, Retired Members’ Rep. NEU and NAS among others, will also be present. The Ulster Tatler magazine will be taking photographs for publication in November. A generous lunch, (subsidised) at £12.50 only, will be served at 1.00pm. The Annual Report containing details of the conference, lunch and speakers will be posted out to all members around the second week of September. We hope to continue to encourage more recently-retired teachers, our newer members particularly, to attend this popular event in our calendar.
