All members of the Retired Teachers’ Association are invited to the Mid-Ulster Branch Meal and Theatre Evening at £30 per person, assembling at the Brewers’ House, Donaghmore at 5.15pm. There to enjoy a two-course pre-theatre meal plus tea/coffee. At 7.30pm we relocate to the Bardic Theatre for Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock classic “Jesus Christ Superstar,” told entirely in song. The story focuses on the last week of Christ’s life as seen from the viewpoint of Judas. Members are responsible for their own transport to and from the venues. The committee invites you to SISTER ACT at the THEATRE AT THE MILL MOSSLEY where THE FORTWILLIAM MUSICAL SOCIETY once again presents a musical not to be missed. Following the success of ALL SHOOK UP the society returns with their production of SISTER ACT. The stage show follows the story of Deloris Van Cartier who is in hiding in a local convent after witnessing the criminal activity of her mobster boyfriend, set to songs Take Me to Heaven, I Could Be That Guy, and Raise Your Voice. Spring Lunch and Mid-Ulster Branch AGM in Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown. We meet for lunch at 12.15 and the AGM will begin at 2pm. Lunch, at your own expense, will cost approximately £12.50 per person for 2 courses + tea/coffee. Our guest speaker is to be John McKenna. He will talk about Mary’s Meals. This is a charity whose aim is to provide every child with one meal daily in their place of education, no doubt a cause close to all our hearts. We would urge you to attend and invite others especially other retired teachers.

The 76th Annual Conference of the Retired Teachers' Association Northern Ireland will take place at 11.00am on Wednesday, 17th October 2018 in the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown, beginning with complimentary tea/coffee & scones from 9.30am. Following a very brief AGM, our guest speaker will give a presentation on issues of interest to retired teachers followed by a Question & Answer Session. Representatives from the various Teaching Unions will also be present. The Ulster Tatler magazine will be taking photographs for publication in their November edition. A generous lunch, (subsidised) at £12.50 only, will be served at 1.00pm. The Annual Report containing details of the conference, lunch and speakers will be posted out to all members around the second week of September. We hope to continue to encourage more recently-retired teachers, our newer members particularly, to attend this popular event in our calendar.
