All members of the Retired Teachers’ Association but in particular the members of the North-East Branch are cordially invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the North-East Branch on Wednesday 4th October at 2.30pm in Portstewart Golf Club.  We will have as our guests Mrs. Sandra Savage, Chairperson and other members of the Central Executive Committee.  The Speaker will be Mr. Eddie Lynch, Commissioner for Older People for N.I. We would encourage you to come along and after the brief business part of the afternoon, meet up with former colleagues and enjoy Afternoon Tea consisting of sandwiches, scones and shortbread.  You will be asked to pay the small sum of £4 towards the cost. The 75th Annual Conference of the Retired Teachers' Association Northern Ireland will take place at 11.00am on Wednesday, 11th October 2017 in the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown, beginning with complimentary tea/coffee & scones from 9.30am. Following a very brief AGM, our guest speaker, Mr. Eamonn Donaghy CEO Age Sector Platform will give a presentation on issues facing retired teachers followed by a Question & Answer Session. Representatives from the various Teaching Unions will also be present. The Ulster Tatler magazine will be taking photographs for publication in their November edition. A generous lunch, (subsidised) at £12.50 only, will be served at 1.00pm. The Annual Report containing details of the conference, lunch and speakers will be posted out to all members around the second week of September. With this central venue, our new approach and input from our distinguished guests, we hope to continue to encourage more recently-retired teachers, our newer members particularly, to attend this popular event in our calendar.

All members of the Retired Teachers’ Association but in particular the members of the Craigavon/South-Down Branch are invited to a lunch in the Fisher-Bar-1 Suite of the City Hotel, 2 Friary Road, Armagh BT60-4FR on Tuesday 7th November 2017 at 12.30pm for 1.00pm. The lunch is being generously subsidised (costing you only £13.50) and will comprise two courses plus tea/coffee & biscuits and promises, like the three previous lunches, to be a pleasant afternoon. All members of the Retired Teachers’ Association but in particular the members of the Mid-Antrim Branch are invited to a 6-Course Carvery Lunch in the Tullyglass House Hotel, Ballymena BT42-1HJ on Wednesday 8th November 2017 at 12.30pm for 1.00pm. The Executive Committee is subsidising this lunch so that all you pay is £10 pp. The menu for this 6-Course Carvery Lunch (from which you may choose on the day) typically comprises:

Central Executive Committee would like to invite you to a fork-buffet in the Alexander Suite of the City Hotel, Queen’s Quay, Derry, Co. Londonderry BT48-7AS on Tuesday 14th November 2017 at 12.30pm for 1.00pm.
The last event organised for this branch, that is the finger-buffet on 24th April, was so well-attended and such a pleasant afternoon that everyone voted for a follow-up lunch in November…and that is exactly what this is…another enjoyable get-together in good company and the opportunity to renew acquaintances.
Central Executive Committee is heavily subsidising this fork-buffet so that all you pay is £10.50 pp. It will be a 3-course lunch and, on the day itself, you can choose between either Beef Bourguignon or Chicken à la King, both served carvery-style with baby boiled potatoes, rice, a selection of three salads and bread rolls. A vegetarian option comprising either Mixed Vegetable Goulash with Pepper Cream Sauce or Vegetable and Tomato Lasagne or Spinach and Broccoli Penne Pasta is also available. Dessert will be Homemade Bailey’s Cheesecake with Toffee Sauce followed by tea/coffee.
